Tim Kelly is Senior Lecturer on the English and Creative Writing degree at Coventry University. He has published poetry and written for the theatre and the cinema. He wrote and directed the award-winning short films The Hole and The Mid Life Crisis of Oscar Redman. He has lived and worked in the UK, Europe and the Far East and taught at the universities of Lancaster, Sheffield, St Andrews, Warwick and Doshisha University in Japan. He holds a national award for ‘innovation in education’. He is interested in multiple forms of human interaction, in subversive aesthetics and in radical thought; in ethics, in irony, in sensuous experience; in illogicality, in stupidity and in love. He enjoys exploring the parameters of the acceptable. He is currently working on his first novel.‘The Girlfriend’ is his first short story
